Riffs
never tries to be all things to all people, but we do try to give an all-over
and well-balanced view of the live music scene in the North East of England.
To this end I thought it would be a good idea to get the view from a landlord
- after all, the punters talk amongst themselves; they often talk about,
and to, the bands; but it's not often they get the chance to see the perspective
of a landlord. Riffs needed someone local to the North-East (obviously);
someone who owns and runs his own venue; someone who is truly passionate
about live music; and someone who has had constant contact with Riffs
for a long time. The list had one person left on it - Paul from the Three
Tuns in Gateshead.
Paul
was contacted and he was only too pleased to have the opportunity to contribute.
His editorial will be edited ONLY to save embarrassment to bands and/or
venues (but, of course, you will know who you are!). So Paul, it's all
