White Noise
Mill House, Crook, Monday 28th May 2007
Well it’s been a good few months since we reviewed White Noise in fact they split and reformed, went off in other directions and came back together without the addition of the mighty Axe wielding Ainsley but even so bounced back with an exuberance and enthusiasm to boot, certainly a band who thrives on live performances and oozes quality and professionalism from the animated and superb distinctive edge ofDave's vocals who’s range still never ceases to amaze me To the frenetic raw power of  Sean on drums, a good solid bass line with Normat the back, although not as animated as Ade on lead who I must mention did the UFO tracks exceptionally well, he certainly got them spot on, apart from the small technical hitch on UFO’s “Shoot Shoot” which was soon resolved with a little twiddle here and there but if it’s one thing I enjoy it’s well over two hours of hard driving rock which White Noise delivered in bucketfuls they seem to get tighter and tighter as they progressed through the set with tracks from Priest’s “Diamonds And Rust” “You Got Another Thing Coming”, Sammy Hagar’s “Planets On Fire” and “Shape Of Things”, Bad Company’s “Rock Steady” “Rock & Roll Fantasy”, Sabbath’s “Heaven And Hell”  Alice In Chains “Man In A Box” of which the landlady seemed to like so much she needed to ask what it was called! Van Halens “Panama” and “Running With The Devil” and of course the fantastic and extended version of UFO’s “Rockbottom” right at the end of the set followed by an encore of Deep Purples “Black Night” a great end to a superb day words just don’t do justice to this band so go check em out for yourself I guarantee you wont be disappointed!

White Noise
Station Hotel, Whitley Bay Saturday 27th November 2005
This was our first venture out this month as we have been sunning ourselves in warmer climates, so we choose to visit Whitley Bay to see new band White Noise who’s lead singer is no stranger to the North East world of Rock.

We arrived at The Station just as the band was about to start on the first set, we had heard very little about the band but as they’re new, what were the expectations?

White Noise is a five-piece heavy rock cover band. Most of you know Dave Lunn from ‘Tubesnake’ for his guitar skills, but what of his vocal talent as front man; we can honestly say we were blown away by his metal edge sharpness with huge vocal cords, a man who commands the showmanship around the stage with comfort and ease, a talent very few have these days. The first set opened with Thin Lizzy’s ‘Are You Ready’ followed with a fantastic rendition of UFO’s ‘Lights Out’ excellent solo spot on Montrose’s  ‘Bad Motor Scooter’ and one of our personal favourites Sabbath’s ‘Heaven & Hell’ Judas Priest’s ‘Diamonds And Rust’ Whitesnakes ‘Aint No Love’ Pat Travers ‘Snorting Whiskey’ an exceptional Deep Purple’s ‘Stormbringer’ and finishing the first set with UFO’s ‘Shoot Shoot’

Short interval and a chat with Dave & Ainsley then onto the 2nd set starting out with MSG’s ‘Armed & Ready’ followed by Sabbath’s ‘Symptoms Of The Universe’ an upbeat James Brown track ‘It’s A Mans World’ a particular favourite of Derek’s Thin Lizzy’s ‘Suicide’ with some fantastic twin guitar soloing from Ade & Ainsley followed with the explosive Judas Priest ‘Starbreaker’ the lads really starting to get into their stride and comfortably exuding their magical charm, quickly onto Motorhead’s Ace Of Spades’ everyone loves this one, all but me! AC/DC’s ‘Hell Aint a Bad Place To Be’ Ainsley (guitar) had told us for 15 years he had been missing from the circuit gigging, then surely I can only say a talent wasted, as there was no sign of any rusty edge to his playing and was a pure outstanding genius to watch on UFO’s ‘Rockbottom’ followed finally by Sabbath’s ‘Crazy Train’ the crowd crying for more gave way to the encore of Deep Purple’s ‘Black Night’

Tonight’s performance was a pleasure to watch along with Ade who played some great awesome numbers as a solo and together with Ainsley. UFO’s Rockbottom was in our opinion the best we seen on the circuit in a long time it was so powerful it almost blew Derek’s eardrums apart. Ainsley and Ade looked very comfortable playing together effortlessly as leads. Sean (drums) played a good powerful beat and lets not forget Mark (Bass) who was quiet at the back yet played very well and we’d like to see him more up front enjoying himself with the look-alike Mitchell brothers Grant and Phil (Ainsley and Ade)

This Band White Noise have gelled very quickly in such a short time this being their fifth official gig and although we are not heavies the guys are surely a class act who can make the non believers rock with their style, what’s refreshing  is the enthusiasm shown throughout the night and their banter with the crowd makes the evening a great night’s entertainment. Definitely a must see act
