First
off, I must apologise profusely for the very late arrival of this review.
It has nothing to do with the band or the quality of their performance
as that was first class, but mainly due to my personal circumstances, which
have now been sorted. The band have been very patient and although late,
I feel that this review is still valid. Let's just hope the band do!
Their debut gig
was actually at The Office
but was originally billed for Three Tuns!
(A date became free and Colin
snapped up the Beast for
the Office and left Paul
with the second gig). Martin, originally singing with metal covers
band Hellsation,
took over singing after the Beast's original singer left after their first
gig. The band continued with their gigs but with a selection of guest singers
so they didn't have to cancel. Very rocky road though but they got by. Tonight they were let down with the PA but with help got a sound that they were pleased with although with some problems; as Martin said: 'We don't want any feedback from the audience tonight cos we've got enough of our own!' The band played like trojans; I had a feeling that if there was no PA and no punters they would still play a crackin gig cos they get so hyped up. They opened with Electric Eye, Riding on the Wind, Metal Gods, Sinner, Heading out to the Highway, Bloodstone, The backdrop fell down all within seconds but Martin, thinking on his feet, mixed it in with lyrics of the song he was singing (think it was Diamonds and Rust, but not sure)........... Jawbreaker, Hot Rockin', Turbo Lover, Starbreaker, Running Wild, Beyond the Realms of Death, Painkiller, Ripper, Green Manalishi, Breakin' the Law, Victim of Changes, Another Thing Coming, ....encore......Hell Bent for Leather, .....encore....Living After Midnight Martin
has
now focussed his energies, and his voice has such a fantastic range it
had my skin going like a pimply goose! Visually the band were superb -all
dressed up fantastically in superb leather gear, and with heat of the stage
bet they couldn/t wait to get it off - had they had any trouble I'm sure
there were many females in the audience that would have gladly offered
their services.............had they got past me first!! the enthusiasm
and vibrance of the band is evident in every song and not one of them flackered
during the entire performance. Singer Martin has such a cheeky grin at
times and we managed to catch it perfectly
